 Missouri native Bob Byerley is no stranger to the subject matter in his art. In fact, most of his
ideas for his paintings came from his childhood in Kansas City where memorable experiences exploring
the immediate world around him became the background for his paintings.
Byerley's formal art training was at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was educated in the Old Masters
Tradition of painting. He graduated with both a B.A. and an M.A. in Art and went on to teach for five years
before he turned to art as a profession in 1970.
